Olympic Chauvinism

Is there actually a national women's basketball team in Canada? Or, for that matter, anywhere? I was reading through a brochure the CBC was kind enough to send with my junk mail this week, and I was struck by one thing: while they were listing all of the Olympic events they were covering and when, they never once mentioned Women's Basketball. They had Men's Basketball, in fact, for just about every sport you could name there were both men's and women's qualifiers, finals, etc. So I can't imagine that it was due to lack of time that the Women's Basketball was left off. All of this has got me wondering: is Women's Basketball an Olympic sport? I'm sure it is. If so, then why aren't any of the games being shown? If not, why the hell not? Anybody? Anyone at all?
